Th price increase is most odd, usually a few months before ASUS release a new product (ZenWiFi Pro ET12 and XT12) the older kit drops in price.
Maybe a chip shortage driving up prices again.
The ASUS ZenWiFi AX (XT8) during set-up will do an Auto – update, but this can be stopped and the firmware can be downloaded from here
