January 21, 2025 at 5:50 pm #35451Interesting I wonder if some of these changes will eventually come to the bt10. Specifically the backhaul improvements as I do see backhaul issues on the 10.

I’ll drop ASUS a message and ask when the next version might be released.

Great, thanks for the update. To be honest, I bought a set of BT8s first but after some further research into these I realised that ongoing and up to date support would potentialy become problematic for the “lesser” versions long term (ie: the BT8 and BT10), so I returned the BT8 set and replcaed it with BQ16s in hoping that it would be better supported with firmware updates etc (although for my needs on paper the BT8 was more than capable and enough).

January 23, 2025 at 2:21 pm #35471I think there’s minimum support time vendors have to support them now by law – 5 years I think? But I would assume BQ16 will get the updates first and then they will filter their way down to the 10 and 8 some time after.

January 23, 2025 at 4:01 pm #35472ASUS will offer security update support to the networking products complied with UK PSTI(Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act) until the date specified below.
The PSTI came into affect on the 29th Apr 2024, 4 years is the requirement but ASUS do usually go beyond that.
Note: frequency of updates is a totally different scenario

Support for BQ16 until December 2026 ?!?!?!?! Seriously ? Must be a mistake… It comes with supposedly at least 3 year warranty but updates and security support for not even 2 years ?

January 23, 2025 at 4:24 pm #35474Guarantee a typo form their perspective, ASUS are not dynamic in this area.
ASUS ZenWiFi BQ16 was released in 2024, so support (firmware) should be to at least 2028.
