We have a North facing driveway and over the years we have had issues with moss growing on our driveway / path making it very slippery.
In the past I have tried Bleach, vinegar, wire brush and dish washing liquid to keep the moss down without turning to the more expensive Pro-Kleen Driveway and Patio Cleaners or simular.
Biological washing powder works very well and using a cheap brand from say LIDL’s you can treat a whole drive (4 parking spaces) for around £3
The Biological washing powder has bleach and also enzymes which help eat / detach the moss from the driveway and path, but you do need to be careful if you have border grass or flowerbeds etc.
To apply the Biological washing powder you need to time it so there is no overnight frost and during the night there will be a light rain (not heavy).
Before applying the Biological washing powder, hose driveway / path with water and sprinkle the biological powder all over the drive / moss and then gently spread the powder with a broom so it is worked into the moss.
The already wet drive and rain will work the Biologic powder into all the moss and the Enzymes work there magic. Give the powder a couple of weeks and you will notice the moss turning brown, you can then just brush away the dead moss.
Using the Bioligical washing powder methods also has the added benefit as it stops new moss growing and we now only have to treat our driveway every 3-4 years or so.
