So today had time to update my Dell 7570 Inspiron laptop and using Dell Update app, all updates were applied apart from the BIOS which had the following error message, so thought I would show how I managed to update my Dell Laptop BIOS manually.
Warning: BIOS Update Failed as BIOS Requires Password. Please Remove Password on BIOS and Retry
‘Note: My Dell 7570 BIOS has no password, so a bug I believe in firmware’.
On the Dell Update screen, I clicked on the Arrow Box (below) which took me to the Dell site where the BIOS update can be download
BIOS File Inspiron_7370_7373_7570_7573_1.25.0.exe
Then after copying the above file to a FAT32 formated USB drive, I rebooted the laptop and kept pressing the F12 button until I arrived at the BIOS Flash update screen and after a click or two, I arrived at the below screen .
I then changed FS0 to FS1 which then picked up the USB drive containing the Inspiron_7370_7373_7570_7573_1.25.0.exe file, Then I selected the Begin Flash Update Button and flashing the BIOS with new firmware took around 2 minutes.
