One of our hand me down older iPhones was starting to suffer from low speaker volume on calls where you could not hear the callers voice clearly or loudly when on telephone or facetime calls.

Tried the usual cleaning with a soft brush and even resorted to blue tack and a vacuum cleaner, alas callers voice was still quiet.

Then tried a method popular with unblocking apple airpods, where you actually suck on the speaker mesh a few times vigorously.

Now calls on the iPhone are much clearer and nephew is happier
