Mova ViAX 300 – First Impressions After a Few Weeks

I’ve had the ViAX 300 for a few weeks now, so thought I’d post a few thoughts in case anyone else is looking at one.

The main selling point for me was not having to install a boundary wire. Setup was pretty straightforward through the app and once the lawn was mapped, it was ready to go.

So far it’s been doing a really good job. Because it cuts little and often, the lawn always looks tidy rather than getting that “just been mowed” look once a week. It’s also a lot quieter than I expected, so I don’t really notice it working.

Navigation has impressed me too. It copes well with plant pots, furniture and other bits left in the garden. My patio chairs get moved around quite a bit and it hasn’t seemed bothered by that.

I was also a bit concerned about putting the charging dock on the patio instead of the grass, but it’s been absolutely fine. It leaves the dock, finds the lawn and returns to charge without any issues and avoids obstacles such as our dog regularly.

The app I do like as it does everything I need. Scheduling is simple, you can see what the mower is doing and changing settings only takes a few taps and you can actually watch the mower cut grass via its onboard HD camera as it can live stream.

The app, which was the 2nd main selling point for me, allows you to set no-go zones and choose the cut pattern for your lawn, I particularly like the straight parallel lines option.

Overall, I’m really happy with it given its price point. It’s saved me a lot of time, the lawn always looks presentable and, so far, it’s been one of those gadgets that actually lives up to expectations.

Only downside is that it leaves a 10-15cm cutting edge due to position of the robot mowers cutters, luckily we have a small garden with a couple of trees, 5 minuites with a grass strimmer every other week is not an issue for me.

Just bought a Mova LiDAX Ultra 2000 AWD. Not really comparable as it is about 4 times the price of your ViAX 300.

Lets see how it will do our property (3 beside) with lots of difficulties (e.g. ramps down to garage) and about 1500m² of effectiv area to mow in 4 or even more zones with small passways between.

I will post a short review after some weeks of work (if I dont forget).

Very nice Robotic lawnmower and it has the true All-Wheel Drive (AWD / 4×4) powertrain, this unit also has the UltraTrim edge cutting disc which is completely automatic, nice investment and I look forward to the review and very envious I am

So, just got it today and started to scan first area.

Now I have to fine adjust, that it goes over borders.

Is there now web-login for it?
After login on PC I get a window where I can only set language and nothing more to click.

Congratulations, my ViAX 300 I configured by iPhone app, I used the MOVAhome app and yes it requires you to register and log into an account to set up and control your ViAX mower.

I manually plotted the edges of my garden as I found the Automatic Boundary Detection option missed a lot of trickier corners etc.

How to get it mowing over edges? I have plain ways around, so it should go on it with one side, no need to leave spaces anywhere.

Yes, if you have a grass garden with say a path or a brick border, for my ViAX 300 I found it best to manually map the mower so half of it drives on the path/brick, this way you guarantee grass it cut upto edge.

Couldn’t find it in the app today.

PS: I think I found the button to setup how to act on the edges.
Lets see on weekend how it will do it.
I activate mowing only 10-16 so it will use PV to load battery.
