Plex has confirmed a recent security incident in which an unauthorized party accessed account data, including usernames, email addresses, and securely hashed passwords. No payment information was affected, but Plex is urging all users to reset their passwords immediately.
What You Should Do
Change your Plex password right away at plex.tv/reset.
When prompted, check the option to sign out all connected devices.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for added protection.
Be alert for phishing emails — Plex will never ask for your password or payment details by email.
The Plex breach affects user accounts on Plex’s central platform (the accounts you log in with on the website or Plex apps).
