Anyone predicting plusnet will have black Friday deals worth taking up?
My BB runs out Dec so i should be able to sign up to a new deal in Nov but my issue is that effectively I only get 3 months before they hike the price by £4 in March and then another £4 the following year so I’m hoping they will have some reasonable discounts to make it worth while as otherwise the initial price doesn’t really mean much to me. If I stay out of contract then i got to pay £40 a month for 3 months until I can get on a new plan and get 12 months before price goes up.
I could also switch to another provider but means parents would loose the very small discount they get due to referring me. Last time I looked the other day, for £1 more a month, i could get 300 instead of the 145 which initially seems worth it but when you work it out 145 BB package equals additional £96 split over 24 months for £4 a month increase. The 300 BB plan is £96 split over 24 months for £4 a month increase + an additional £24 for the £1 extra per month for 300mb instead of 145mb.
Thanks

October 15, 2025 at 8:50 pm #39800Plusnet Black Fridays deals for broadband will be a feature for 2025 I believe and Reward cards are likely to return

November 12, 2025 at 6:27 pm #40170Hi all,
So PlusNet have black Friday deals available, seems they offering 145 full fibre for £22.99 and a reward voucher BUT only for new customers, when i sign in, they want £24.99 a month – now I was expecting to not get reward as that is effecively the incentive to join but to not give the package at the same price seems they blatantly are not interested at keeping existing customers?
I still got some time so going to see what other deals come up but sky are doing 150mb for £24.00 or £25 so I’m tempted to switch, just not too sure if my router will work on it – RT-AX86S and how much of a pain it will be to setup as opposed to when I switched from BT to PlusNet.
Existing deal runs out in Dec so still got bit of time to decide.

November 12, 2025 at 6:28 pm #40171PlusNet been ok to date, had I think 1 internet outage lasted few hours but that’s all. Not too bad in 2yrs, something is likely to go wrong at some point in time, its inevitable.

November 12, 2025 at 8:30 pm #40172One day certain business will realise its more profitable and better business sense to keep existing customers, A real shame Plusnet is owned by BT

November 16, 2025 at 3:32 pm #40290yes I agree. Just a shame not much else for the pricepoint. Sky is slightly cheaper but there is the unknown price rise amount (if any) and the fact I’d need to make changes on router for it to be up and running, which is right on top of xmas so not ideal. Currently plusnet offering 300 instead of 134 for £1 more a month. I realise extra £24 for the contract but even though i will seldom use the full 300 available, likely to only be for any large apple/windows updates. the other advantage is higher minimum speed guarantee (think 165) and sightly higher upload speed (think 50mb) so might be worth it. Other issue is I only get the lower price for approx. 3 months then it increases, bit annoying.
Got till mid December to decide but hoping to decide soon, just wondering if I renew now, does it start now or when contract ends, doesn’t say that I could see.

November 16, 2025 at 8:32 pm #40292Sky do seem to be offering good value Full Fibre deals currently, a couple of our neighbours has signed up to them on fibre deals also.

November 18, 2025 at 7:44 pm #40297Yeah, for me sky is slightly cheaper for 145mb but that’s about it so likely stick with PlusNet for now, maybe change next year.

November 19, 2025 at 1:04 pm #40300If you use topcashback, they are giving upto £127 as cashback for full fibre.
I used them when switching my sister from Hyperoptic to CF and we got £100 plus a referral bonus from TC.

November 23, 2025 at 10:01 am #40317Renewed with PlusNet, they offered me the next speed up for £1 more so went for that. interestingly, they said would be done 21st Nov, but speed changed on 21st or 22nd, website said error occurred, cannot make changes as change in progress so I figured upgrade still in process. Went on there forums, seems there is a hidden link to the tickets and there it shows they changed the date to be done by midnight 24th nov but I didn’t get a email. Seems this is a long standing frustration, that they change the date but you don’t get informed.

Have you got a copy or screen dump of this ‘hidden link’ on the tickets, as this could be very useful for others

November 23, 2025 at 6:12 pm #40327Thanks, I just tried the link as I was interested as we are shortly having Full Fibre in our area and I was keen to see the communications from Plusnet.
The link shows communications with BT Wholesale using OpenReach (HUD) ‘Heads-Up Display’, very useful

November 24, 2025 at 1:08 pm #40329My speed has increased today so looks like change has happened, however when I login to my account still says in process and is showing old contract info, old end date etc, so guess they not updated my account yet.
