June 10, 2020 at 8:43 pm #7944Hell yeah. The colours are awesome
The software version needed is – Q112.000.21.00L (53wk8j8), I just manually updated it via settings.
Content is limited at the moment and only via on demand, quote from sky website –
“As part of the new Sky Nature channel launch we are excited to reveal the new on demand HDR shows, Gangs of Lemur Island, Pridelands: Wilderness Reborn and Malawi Wildlife Rescue.
You will be able to search for these shows or find them in the Ultra HD rails and sections within Sky Q Home and On Demand.
Over 2020 we will look to increase the HDR on demand range, with the following coming before the end of the year:
More Nature shows
A selection of Sky Originals
A selection of blockbuster movies in time for Sky Cinema Christmas.”You need to login in order to vote

June 11, 2020 at 6:15 am #7948@Bully, I just checked my SKy Q box this morning and alas it is hardware version 32C00A which unfortunately for myself means I cannot get Sky HDR service with my current box (High Dynamic Range) content.
I did read somewhere for £50 I can opt for a Sky Q box upgrade via self install, alas I have a lot of Babylon 5 series recorded which I do not want to loose if I upgrade
Also seems non of the current SKY Q boxes use SSD hard drives as yet, so some fun to be had upgrading the hard disk if I do purchase a new SKY Q box, but do have to be mindful of cost and SSD do have a limited “write cycle” lifespan

June 11, 2020 at 7:02 pm #7969I read this – but either way, OLED’s are a nice screen technology
