UK’s Openreach admits 50k premises on ‘gigabit-capable’ FTTP network can’t get gigabit speeds
Taken from TheRegister.co.uk
I read this on the Register the other day, looks like the DLSAMs/Exchanges/Cabinets that utilise ECI kit (Infineon) are causing slowdows in the network, Broadcom (Huawei)cabs are not effected and work as expected.
Those on the effected ECI cabinets are having to settle for 330 Mbps ;-(
So next time you move house (or choosing a business location) , not only is schools, parking and local crime rates a consideration for many, but maybe add to that list, what cabinet are you connecting to ? ;-)
