With a Steady hand for soldering  , I would still if possible turn laptop off and with battery and AC unplugged, leave for a couple of days, then if does not start at weekend, time for new chip maybe.

The amount of times in my early days I have put broken Desktops / Servers / Laptops to one side for the weekend only to find the following week they work again (ish) is very interesting
