The Linksys units uses the  chipset manufacturer (Qualcomm) and has double the RAM and CPU performance  compared to ASUS and TP-Link units, hence the increased cost

So from my above mini wiki, seems the Lower End TP-Link Deco X60 v1 / TP-Link Deco X20 v1 or ASUS ZenWifi XT8 are the only units that are free for parental controls as they both use Trend Micro and you sign you life away buy sending all your data (traffic) via their servers etc.
