PS You have probably gathered that whilst I have a modicum of technical knowledge I know very little about networks, routers, firewalls etc, it all confuses the heck out of me

FYI – Your Sky Q mini connects to you Sky Q main box .’.
- Sky mini boxes can act as hot spots and give the same SSID.
- Sky Q set top box act as a WiFi AP when connected to the Sky Q router via WPS
Alas I do not know whether using either the Sky mini or Q top box will allow additional wifi clients, but I would guess it should do given the additional hardware ?
I have Sky Q top box but use a different router for kids Gaming etc .
