How to update Google Chrome’s security settings:
If you use Google Chrome, then you need to update the browser to version 99.04844.84 or later.
Here’s how you do it:
- Launch Chrome on your laptop or desktop.
- Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select the ‘Help’ option.
- Click on the ‘About Google Chrome’ option that appears from the drop-down menu.
- This should result in a new Settings tab being opened and the update starting automatically.
It will only take a few seconds to download the update – you’ll just need to relaunch Chrome to finish the process. You can either do that right away or at a later convenient time.
The reason Microsoft’s Edge browser is also affected is because it uses the same underlying technology as Chrome.
Therefore, if you’re using Edge, follow the steps above and click on About Microsoft Edge to make sure you’ve got the latest version installed.
