If you want to see exactly what is going on, try…
@ Search Bar type “eventvwr”
Open up “Windows Logs” then “System”
Then plug in or unplug HDD and see if any Warnings are given, then double click on Warning (yellow) Triangle.
You can also Right click on “system” to set specific filters etc.
