My PI is configured as a device on main network (wired) with fixed IP.  I have then enabled wireless on the PI and set that to a static IP on the guestnetwork.

So my thinking was it would use both connections to detect devices, but appears not.

Asus does have a option on Guest network to access intranet, current disabled.  If i enable it, I’m assuming it will see both main network and guest network devices as in it will simply add a route to the different subnets.

I don’t think asus has a option of setting a lan port to guest as it doesn’t do vlans.  the Pro version does but I’m a little loathed to pay another £200+ to buy essentially the same router but to get vlans.

and I’m not sure how vlans would help with guest wifi other than allow a LAN port ont he guest network but would mean getting an additional nic for the pi and the case doesn’t have a option for it.

So far I’ve bought

Raspberry pi 5 8GB version

argeon neo case (inbuilt fan and NVMe slow)

500gb nvme drive (samsung)

pi microSd card to get the homeassistant setup on the nvme initially)

HDMi-micro HDMi cable as wanted ability to hook up to a monitor if issues

seperate microsd card as thought needed to put homeassistant on separate microsd card and then put on nvme but turns out didn’t need it so its going to go to my dad as a spare card for his camera

pi charger

costs look small when you look but soon add up. Bit annoying it doesn’t work how i invisaged, i like have main network and IoT in separate guest network to separate them.  Any issues turning on the enable access intranet? Will it re-assign all devices IP address or just setup a route between the 2 netwrks?
