I also used for a point for consideration the 3490. but have heard better reviews regarding the 7580 over the last year or two, but yes the 7590 is a good choice also.
In essence, both the 7580 and 7590 use the same hardware, i.e
CPU – Lantiq (Intel) PXB4583
RAM – 512 Mb
Flash – 512 Mb
For Wifi – both use the QCA9984 but the 7590 does have a slightly newer QCA9985 for its 4×4 for its bgn range – which is marginal at best.
Prices are very good from Ebay for the 7580, compared to say the 7590 and super vectoring in the UK is not readily available via BT. BT opted for G.fast instead which neither the 7580 or 7590 support currently.
Agree, prices are similar so had not given this much thought, I recalled as a previous user on my old forum had bad experience with 7590 and returned it. hence initially choosing the 7580
I own the ASUS RT-AC86U and love it, works very well, duel core 1.8GHz Broadcom Processors, 512Mb RAM and comes with the gaming option WTFast ;-)
In the UK, only the Fritz!Box 3490 and the 7530 is approved to use on a BT connection, as you may know, the 7530 is a lesser spec unit compared to say the 7580 / 90 and hardly worth the upgrade in my view.
