£2500 sounds a good price especially if you have the work completed in the summer, prices seem to be cheaper then.

The only other area to consider is if your boiler should have an aluminum or stainless steel heat exchanger.

Here are some differences between aluminum and stainless steel heat exchangers: (AI Overview)
    • Thermal conductivity

Aluminum has a high thermal conductivity, which allows for a more compact and lightweight boiler design.

    • Corrosion resistance

Stainless steel heat exchangers are more resistant to corrosion than aluminum heat exchangers.

    • Water conditions

Stainless steel is tolerant to a wider pH band than aluminum, making it suitable for more challenging water conditions.

    • Noise

Aluminum heat exchangers have larger waterways, which means the water doesn’t need to flow as quickly, making the boiler quieter when operating.

    • Weight
Aluminum is lighter than steel, which can be helpful when installing a large boiler in a space with difficult access.
    • Maintenance
Aluminum heat exchangers are more likely to suffer damage if they are not maintained regularly.

Let us know how it goes as and when you do have your boiler replaced.

There is something wrong with your boiler, thats why it not heating in the moment you turn on hot water.

Let it be repaired and be happy again, no need to change anything.

(not relevant to boilers) Probably it dosnt recognice warm water flowing, thats why it doesnt turn on the same moment you take warm water.
Flowmeter needs to be checked or adjusted to lower flows.

I just had is serviced and all is a ok.

At times it is instant but if its used a bit, the it suddenly takes a while to come hot again.. maybe I’ve used all the hot water it was “storing” and it takes a bit to fill up-re-heat? Not entirely sure as no boiler expect :)

Then you should take a larger boiler next time you have to replace, to store more hot water.

Now you can up the temperature, e.g. if you have 45°C now adjust 55°C.
So you will use less hot water from boiler with same mixed temp.

Yes, that’s why I started to consider the 30kw boiler as Ideal only do a 24kw, 30kw or 35kw so I was thinking 30kw would be the sweet spot.  I’m sure they used to do a 26 or 28kw boiler on the previous models but I guess they ditched them and now just have these 3 sizes.

I realise the property is fairly new, but might be worth a chat with other similar property owners in your area to see how they are managing with the boilers they have ?

Yes will see if I find any as don’t really see many of the neighbours much as mostly working tbh. Some neighbours are older so they are often away on holidays for few weeks etc at a time.
