BT Wholesale has confirmed plans to introduce new multi‑gigabit FTTP tiers later in 2026, finally bringing its product lineup in line with the fastest Openreach options. The upcoming profiles include 1.2Gbps and 1.8Gbps download speeds, with uploads expected to reach roughly 120–220Mbps depending on the tier.

These speeds have been available on the Openreach network for some time, but most ISPs couldn’t offer them because BT Wholesale hadn’t yet adopted the higher‑speed profiles. That gap is now closing, which means a wide range of providers — including BT, EE and many smaller ISPs that rely on BT Wholesale — will soon be able to offer packages above the long‑standing 900Mbps ceiling.

The rollout is expected late 2026, with retail availability likely following shortly after. Areas already served by Openreach FTTP should be able to access the new tiers once BT Wholesale completes its upgrade work.
