As Openreach continue to rapidly roll out fibre to the premises, how easy is it to upgrade from your existing product? What is the process and what about your phone numbers?
Q. Will I still be able to use my existing phone numbers?
A. Yes. If you currently use a traditional copper phone line, youβll need Cloud Voice type service.
When you place an order for a FTTP Broadband service, Thereβs no point keeping your old phone line just for calls. as in 2025, your phone line (copper) will no longer work.
Once your FTTP Broadband product is live, youβll need a Cloud Voice licence added to it. Theyβre very cheap and they allow you to make and receive calls over your new broadband product. Your original phone line number or numbers can be migrated to the new Cloud Voice service easily .
