    Hi
any news about new Official firmware (The Latest Version 1.1.1.2 – 11/04/2016 – many issues and freezing)

Appreciate that we still get new beta to solve many issues

but months ago no Official Firmware available to download from Asus website even older releases ?

people who don’t know where to search and get new betas will stick with their faulty firmware

(well don’t worry  :D I got all beta releases about 16 beta firmware till now O.o)

    https://www.asus.com/Networking/DSLN55U_C1/HelpDesk_Download/

Maybe something wrong with this model ? so they deleted all official Firmware’s until it fixed !!

    Thanks

Sam, thanks for the news, yes no Official Firmware listed for a long time.

Have you asked ASUS why no Official Firmware’s are available for the DSL-N55U_C1 Official Firmware – I assume because it is over 5 years old?

I have the same problem. I purchased the unit from new in 2017 and there was no firmware on the distribution disk. I now need to do a firmware restoration and  find no official firmware on the ASUS support site just some utility software. I contacted ASUS and they would not give a reason why no even old stable firmware was available. They suggested sending it back to the retailer for repairs!

Firmware can be downloaded from third party sites if you are prepared to take the risk. I also tend to think the modem could have a fundamental problem. I’m writing it off as a bad purchase.

The latest firmware for the DSL-AC55U C via this forum is supplied directly from ASUS, but I do understand the concerns (trust) around not being able to go directly to manufactures site to obtain firmware etc.

alas the DSL-AC55U-C is not really supported by ASUS apart from the beta’s they update periodically.

Modem chipset is mediaTek, so works reasonable well on ADSL and short lines, but given you part of the world, does  suffers from not working well on long or noisy lines etc, best try using a Broadcom or Lantiq based DSL chipset device.

    Hi,

so its time to change to Broadcom xDSL Modem Routers

    OK

here is some things i found

this list was about month earlier at Asus Website EOL

End-of-life model/                                Latest version                 Recommended models

    DSL-N55U Annex A                          DSL-N55U C1/D1                        DSL-AC56U
    DSL-N55U Annex B                          DSL-N55U C1/D1                        DSL-AC56U

    https://wikidevi.com/wiki/User:Omega/EoL_product

From Asus Website now its Gone https://www.asus.com/event/network/EOL-product/

same thing about Android (Asus Router App) on older versions the info was telling more DSL routers support in the Future and Now this info Gone (i know it is work with latest beta Till now)

one last thing here is screenshot from DSL-N55U C1 and it show Broadcom

The Screenshot refers to your local DSLAM, which is Broadcom, so buying a Broadcom router would/should work well, the DSL-N55U DSL Chipset is MediaTek,

Yes. DSL-N55U is only supported by non Official/Stock Firmware’s like the ones I get from ASUS

I will ask ASUS about the Android App, if you think this will help you?

AFAIK AVM will give you 5 years warranty on their routers (and fw-updates).

Even without receipt based on production date, so I buy them used much cheaper.

Dont know if you understood exactly what I meant (if you answer is belonging to my post).

Otherswise just ignore this or please Admin delete it!

Sorry, have my troubles with English.

AVM is the manufacturer of Fritz!Box which replaces now all my Asus-routers, they give 5 years warranty (not Asus).

My 7590 is stable now even with beta 68106 on DSL with vplus (supervectoring) 266m and 289Mb/s down.

Problems has been the line going down exactly the day after change to beta firmware, why I had to think it caused my troubles. Fine now since 2 weeks.

At the moment no need for official 7.10, beta seems to be the same or even newer.

I am only waiting to update 7582 on beta 57544 used in mesh, which sometimes needs a reboot now for proper band and node stearing.
