If you’ve noticed a subtle “indent” or screen distortion when pressing the Action, Volume, or Camera Control buttons on your iPhone 16 Pro, you’re not alone — and you’re not seeing things.
With iOS 18, Apple introduced a new visual feedback mechanism that activates when side buttons are pressed. The left or right edge of the screen appears slightly compressed or darkened, creating the illusion of pressure affecting the display. While some early users feared it might be a hardware issue or display defect, it turns out to be intentional behavior baked into the OS.
