Seems since the end of January 2021, Netgear R7800 the following features are no longer supported: ReadySHARE Vault, OpenDNS (Live Parental Controls), remote GUI access, and WPS PIN function.
No idea what if any alternative is being used by the R7800, but given its age, I assume the R7800 is not a priority for Netgear.

Note that starting with this firmware release (V1.0.2.82), the following features are no longer supported: ReadySHARE Vault, OpenDNS (Live Parental Controls), remote GUI access, and WPS PIN function. If you want to continue using these features, do not update the firmware.

WPS PIN is or will be removed by most vendors I think and will be replaced by WPA3 WiFi-Easy Connect and many newer clients dont support it anymore.
Just the question what to do with older clients we dont like to replace?
Remote access will need some VPN access to change things remotely.

Yes it is a shame, the more we make progress in technology, the more we leave behind.
