So our Sky Q box remote died last weekend with only the volume down button that was working.

So thought I would create a thread to show how I paired the new Sky Q remote with our LG OLED TV.

Synch Sky Q remote with LG OLED TV

With both the LG TV and the Sky Q box turned on, from the Sky Q menu go to Settings, Setup, Remote Control and then scroll to the picture of your Sky Q remote and select.

1. Then select ‘Control your TV‘, a dialogue box will appear asking ‘Do you know the code for your TV’ ?, if you know your code select the ‘I know it’ check box and enter code.
2. If you do not know your code then select ‘Find it for me’ check box.
3. You are then requested to ‘Enter the brand of your TV’ for which I typed LG and chose select.
4. You are then prompted ‘Now we need the model of your TV’ and there are a couple of check boxes, one ‘I know it’ and the other ‘Find it for me’.
5. I selected ‘Find it for me’
6. A code is presented and instructions to hold buttons 1 and 3 for 2 seconds and then enter the code.
7. If the first code does not work, select ‘No, try another’ and a second code will be presented (max 7 codes available).
8. Once you find the correct code, select ‘Yes’ and the Sky Q settings screen will disappear.

Note: (After I entered the code, I tried the Sky Q remote volume button to see if code had worked)

In theory, as we know all the possible codes for the LG OLED TV, steps 1-5 could be skipped as only step 6 and 7 need to be followed using the Sky Q remote to pair with the LG TV.

Interesting, thanks.  Do the code change depending on model/type of TV i.e. HD, 4k etc?  Don’t have Sky myself but interesting none the less :)

When I went through the configuration option, I only selected the manufacturer brand, i.e. LG, not the specific TV model, so the codes that where then shown must relate to all LG TV’s I assume ?
