So, Our Renault Kadjar has recently had one if its front wheelโ€™s (and tyre) replaced as part of repairs after a car incident with another vehicle.

So, driving home after the wheel and tyre was replaced, the Renault Kadjar Tyre Pressure Monitor System (TPMS) Alarm message appeared stating low tyre pressure, or pressure unknown (I forget which one) and then driving a few more miles another message stating tyres location failure issue and an orange I think tyre symbol appeared on the dashboard.

So after getting home and double checking the tyre pressures, all was good, front tyre pressures read 2.3 bar and rears are 2.1 bar for 225×45 /19โ€ wheels.

So either garage had forgot to add TPMS sensor to valve stem or the garage had not reset TPMS system in light of new wheel and tyre (maybe they added new TPMS) also, not sure ?

Either way, I decided to reset the Renault Kadjar Tyre Pressure Monitoring System by doing the following.

1.ย ย ย ย ย  Using the Steering Wheel Toggle paddle, Red arrow, toggled up or down until you reach Tyre Pressure display.

2.ย ย ย ย ย  Then press and hold for 5 seconds the OK button, Green Arrow, this should then reset the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and then a message appears Tyre Location in Progress

3.ย ย ย ย ย  I then found that by driving for the car for 20 minutes this enabled the Renault Kadjarโ€™s tyre pressure monitoring system to locate all four wheels and display correct tyre pressures etc.

Unsure if just leaving the ignition ON and not driving the vehicle for 20 minuites after resetting the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System would have achieved the same result, but had to make a journey at that time so for me, the 20 minuite drive worked.

Handy reference as our vehicle is fitted with a navigation system โ€“ the above procedure works, if no navigation system is fitted, see below link.

    Hi,

If they are like my previous car, then you need to drive it otherwise it will sit at 0% and is waiting to be driven.ย  I think I had to drive a couple of miles for it to get to 100%.

    That would make senseย
