Smart Wi-Fi Power Plug
This arrived in my inbox the other day, looks like TP-Link are promoting there Kasa Smart Wi-Fi power Plug
Seems you are able to control power plug by remote control over wifi outside of your home for enabling and disabling power by an app, you are also able to put this plug on a timer to enable power to say a slow cooker whilst at work or even when on holiday, you can turn on different side lights during the evening to give the perception property is occupied etc.
· Remote Access – Easy setup and control from anywhere with the free Kasa app (iOS, Android).
· Scheduling – Schedule the Smart Plug to automatically power electronics on and off as needed, like setting lights to come on at dusk or turn off at sunrise.
· Away Mode – Turns your devices on and off at different times to give the appearance that someone is home.
· Voice Control – Pair to Amazon Alexa or The Google Assistant to enable voice control.

They are good I have my slow cooker rigged to one of my extension lead with Sky Q box and TV and my other extension lead with my X-Box sky mini and TV hooked up to them. I can be in the pub and turn on the slow cooker so when I get home the food is perfect. I can reboot the sky boxes without running down or upstairs. The only thing I have with them is sometimes they disconnect, and the Wi-Fi router needs a reboot to reconnect them. Don’t forget to check for firmware updates through the Kasa app in setting and the do come out with updates every few months.
