FRITZ!OS 8.40 Lab Introduces New Features Ahead of 8.50 Release
AVM has released new FRITZ!OS 8.40 Lab firmware containing a number of interesting new features and improvements.
The 8.40 Lab release is not FRITZ!OS 8.50. Instead, it provides an early look at features that are being tested and developed in preparation for the upcoming FRITZ!OS 8.50 release.
The latest Lab developments include improvements across networking, Wi-Fi, Mesh, Smart Home, security and other areas, with some particularly interesting additions for home network management and automation.

As this is FRITZ! Lab firmware, it is beta/development software and features may change before the final release. Availability also depends on the particular FRITZ!Box model.
If the FRITZ! Lab page does not initially display the English version, selecting Germany (DE) as the country should make the English language option available.
