- August 3, 2026 at 5:41 pm #43120TalkTalk has transferred roughly 120,000 broadband subscribers to startup Rise Fibre in a sudden move to address its £1.4 billion debt pile. The transition officially took effect on 1 August 2026. This deal significantly boosts Rise Fibre’s footprint, bringing its total customer base to nearly 250,000 users. What this means for affected customers:
- No Price Changes: Monthly costs and existing contract lengths remain exactly the same.
- No Equipment Swaps: Existing TalkTalk routers and setups will continue to work.
- Temporary Support: TalkTalk will temporarily manage customer service during the migration.
Impacted users do not need to take action, as account transfers are handling automatically behind the scenes. In a completely sane world, madness is the only freedom (J.G.Ballard).

August 3, 2026 at 5:42 pm #43121Interestingly, I believe TalkTalk Users were not notified before the transfer to Rise Fibre, which was finalised as an overnight transaction on 1 August 2026. Information regarding the migration was only provided following the closure of the deal.
