So I just noticed after looking for some upto date drivers for my Dell laptop that a message now appears when I look for Windows updates.
‘Your version of windows has reached the end of service‘, I am running Windows 11 version 22H2
Even when I select Check for Updates, no new updates are found

December 12, 2024 at 6:53 am #35098Looks like Windows 11 build, such as 21H2 or 22H2, both of which have reached the end of service. 23H2 and 24H2 are still supported.
The Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 22H2 reached the end of their service on October 8, 2024.
Time to find a way to update.

December 12, 2024 at 5:39 pm #35102So I found a way even though my Dell laptop does not support TPM2.0 and I have already implemented the Microsoft recommended registry modification required to bypass the TPM2.0 check, alas my still windows 11 laptop would not automatically upgrade to Windows 11 23H2.
Also tried the Windows 11 Installation Assistant but alas this did not help.
I decided to upgrade from Windows Version 22H2 to 23H2 via an alternative method and the below worked for myself.
Briefly … (using Windows 11 Laptop)
- Went to github.com/AveYo/MediaCreationTool.bat and grabbed a copy, once you run this file, this will allow you to download a copy of Windows 11 23H2 and create an ISO.
- Then go to //rufus.ie/en/ and grab the portable version which is suitable for your CPU and run as an Administrator.
- Once Refus is running, load the downloaded 23H2 iso into the tool and this will create a new 23H2 ISO that you can then install / upgrade your existing Windows installation but still allows you to circumvent the TPM 2.0 requirement.
- Once this new ISO has been created, I double clicked upon the ISO which then mounted and assigned it a drive letter (E:/) as an example.
- Then from the CMD prompt (run as Administrator) I used the following command line E:/setup.exe /product server and this allows you to install Windows 11 23H2 with some extra option such as keeping existing settings / apps / data etc.
Note: The E:/setup.exe /product server CMD only installs Windows 11 23H2 via the ISO, don’t be discouraged by the server reference throughout the install / upgrade process.
Once finished, my laptop rebooted half a dozen times and is now running Windows 11 23H2 comfortable.
