Hi All
Go the XT8 and quite happy so far. Had couple of Zoom meentings on out of box firmware, and that was fine. Had one disconnection which resolved itself in couple of minutes.
Have upgraded to 42095 and will update how I get on.
By the way interested in getting one of these wall mount units, as they would be ideal for me. Anyone got one and can confirm whether they fit the XT8
Thanks again
Lou

Out of the box, how do I disable autoupdate, or will the app prompt me.
Guessing the older firmwares will be on Asus’s site for manual update?

Hopefully that will be out of box firmware. Is there an automatic update that will kick once switched on.
By the way what’s with the prices, yesterday £307 on Amazon, today £399!
Last week, £307 pre order on Scan, today £409!

Thanks UK Sentinel
Interestingly enough just noticed XT8 prices have dropped down to £308 for 2 pack on Scan computers and thought this may mean a new model is imminent.
Any update from Asus re firmware?

Thanks again UK Sentinel.
Appears neither contender is available in the UK yet?
And judging by US pricing the Linksys Atlas seems to be so expensive that I don’t think I will be able to afford it.

Thank you for your response dodgydrains.
Thank you for contacting ASUS UK Sentinel Can you please also ask them about UK release of ET8.Assuming firmware is sorted out on ET8, what are your thoughts on ET8 based on the US reviews.

Hi
Thanks for your very quick response.
I actually have the Orbi 752 right now which was on offer at £330, when I bought it.
While I am happy with the performance, I don’t like the idea of having to pay extra, via subscription, for some features which are essential for me. The unit was advertised as coming with these features, (at least that’s what I understood) and then I found out otherwise. I am guessing subscriptions will apply to the the 852 series as well.
So looks like ET8 wont be arriving anytime soon? How prevalent are the issues with XT8.
Any other suggestions for comparable systems that come with dedicated backhaul channels, similar range and offer security etc, without having to pay extra for subs.
Thanks again for your help.
