Looks like at last @GNUton has publicly announced he is supporting the DSL-AX82U like he did previously with the DSl-AC68U by offering an ASUS DSL device with ASUSWRT-Merlin overlay.
By Adding ASUSWRT-Merlin to the DSL-AX82U, this now makes the DSL-AX82U a device worthy of consideration for VDSL2 (not G.fast) etc,
