the SKy Q box has an option for wireless that allows you to either connect to a Sky Broadband router or another non sky router (provider).

Regarding my Router, I fluctuate between my Netgear XR500 and my ASUS RT-AC86U and my ASUS DSL-AX82U depending on what I doing at the time and parental controls etc.

Both Netgear XR500 and ASUS RT-AC86U options need a modem such as the DrayTeK 130, but the DSL-AX82U has a built in modem already.

Note: Sky broadband has a special requirement that requires any router to support DHCP  Option 61 – so make sure router is suitable (my broadband is Plusnet soon to be BT )
