Yup, no luck with PPPoE relay enabled on the DSL-N16.
Strange, did you try changing cable between modem and router ?
The other area to consider is I believe TalkTalk only allow one user account to synch with DSL, so if you have username/password set-up as normal on DSL-N16 and then you enable PPPoE Relay, this will synch with DSL-N16 crudentials and then Router cannot connect / synch with account also.
