Welcome, are you using a BT VDSL ( FTTC) broadband service ?

If so, then the DSL-n16 does not support Bridge mode but you can use ‘Enable PPPoE Relay’ so the DSL-N16 passes all the PPPoE traffic straight thru to the Router.

Alas, the DSl-N16 uses a MediaTeK DSL chipset, which is not good, Broadcom or Lantiq (Intel) DSL chipset are far superior and the DrayTeK Vigor 130 is a good alternative modem to consider ?

Most likely your DSL sync rate (speed) has dropped from 80Mbps but is now 65 is because every time you reboot the DSL-N16, this will cause your synch rate (speed) to reduce as the line is considered unstable (due to rebooting DSL-N16) and the synch rate reduces to provide better stability.
