No joy from HP.  They checked all of my updates and confirmed that I’d already done everything that they would have done.

Since, at four years old, the laptop is out of warranty and “obsolete”, their suggestion was to take it over to PC World to see if it’s a broken USB-C port.

I really don’t want to buy a new laptop as Envy’s are mid-to-high end and have a price tag to match. I might have to though. :(
