FYI.
DDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System) is a service that allows network clients to connect to the wireless router, even with a dynamic public IP address, through its registered domain name. The wireless router is embedded with the ASUS DDNS service and other DDNS services.
Your thinking is correct, in theory ASUS routers have an embedded DDNS client to update your No-IP hostname automatically.
What I cannot remember is if this service works when you use the asuscomm.com domain for DDNS as I seem to remember a while ago a few issues (limitations) ?
Try changing Server to Domains.Google.com (registration required) and then select ‘WAN IP and hostname verification’ check box to every 60 minutes and see if that does the trick
