It seems this issue with 5ghz was client related and not the router at all … I saw a suggestion to disable ‘wake on magic packet’ and ‘wake on pattern match’ in the interfaces settings and strangely it seems to have fixed it, no strange latency issues for about a day now. Fingers crossed!
