It seems basically they want to advertise a price and say it includes it all rather than saying this is the price with/without line rental and you have the option of line rental saver which then makes you monthly payments x. They want to advertise 1 price per product and people pay the one price effectively. Makes it easier to do billing i guess for them.
I also think people are recognising the “Line rental charge” is a bit of a con now that people have VOIP and they don’t want to loose the money so are saying the new price is all one effectively still charging you line rental but not advertising it as most like complaints as to why are they paying it if no line.
