I’d assume early 2027 to be a safe bet. Also, even when a product officially reaches EOL, ASUS often continues to provide further firmware updates for some time afterwards. For example, the ASUS RT-AC68U, which was released back in 2013, and it actually received another firmware update this year.
Conversely, the DSL-AX82U support finished exactly
four years after it was released, so no guarantees.Edit, I stand corrected, ASUS just released a new firmware for the DSL-AX82U.

Not heard of these before, are they new company compared to netgear/asus/tplink/draytek?

September 19, 2026 at 3:50 pm #43425Yes, I believe the LCD screens on the GL.iNet routers can be turned off.
GL.iNet was founded in 2010, making it about 16 years old (ish).

September 19, 2026 at 7:06 pm #43427thanks, took a look at the flint 3 – didn’t look bad but is £330….
Looking to get an idea of life cycle of those, seems the flint 3 was release 19 June 2025 and due to eol June 2027 so only couple of years?
TPLink doesn’t seem too bad, I’m just not sure on internal antennas so might be looking at Asus maybe as they seem to last around 5 years? Just need to find a model that will last 5 years that isn’t too costly
I bout the RTR-ax86U in 2021 so lasted 5 years and I don’t think I bought it soon as it came out was a little while after I think, might be after UK Sentinel bout the rt-AX82U.

But yes the new Gl.iNet Flint 4 Tri-band Wi-Fi 7 Home Router Touch Screen (GL-BE14000) is much nearer the £330 mark and Amazon always a great place for a discount
