WTH, I Just signed up for the Octopus Tracker and am on the waiting list
Had the following form Octopus today, looks like I am on my way to signing up to a tracker tariff.

Hi xxxxxx,
Good news – we’ve checked your smart meter and we’re ready to start your switch to Tracker.
Complete this form to finish signing up to Tracker. We’ll ask you to confirm whether you want Tracker for electricity, gas, or both, and ask you to sign our tariff T&Cs.
After you’ve filled out the form, we’ll transfer your account to Tracker on 7th July. However, we’ll back date this so that you’re billed on Tracker from 1st July.
If you don’t accept the terms by 6th July 23:59, we’ll assume you don’t want to switch to Tracker. We’ll be removing the waitlist after 1 July, and website sign ups will reopen in early July, so you can always reapply via our website at any time.
Before you confirm your switch, we wanted to remind you of Tracker’s quirks:
Energy prices on Tracker change daily based on fluctuations in the wholesale market. Your daily standing charge remains the same each day.
Your prices are calculated using a set formula, and we’ll give reasonable notice if any changes are made to this formula.
We’ll create your bills based on half-hourly meter readings when available. If this data is missing at the point of billing we’ll use industry coefficients to estimate your consumption.
If you haven’t heard from us by 10th July, please contact to get in touch and confirm your tariff switch
Tracker features Price Cap Protect, which caps the maximum daily price at 100p / kWh for electricity and 30p / kWh for gas – keep in mind that’s a lot higher than the Ofgem Energy Price Cap.
Tracker is a beta product. Some things may not work the first time, and installations and processes may take longer than we’d like. Third party tech like In-home Displays won’t always work, and on occasion data issues with smart meters can take significant time to fix or prevent things from working at all.
Â
You can read more about how Tracker works on our FAQs and Terms and Conditions page.
If you have any issues with the above, just reply to this email and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
