Considering Plusnet atm.  Just been onto there chat and I have to say, slightly confused.  I advised the guy with BT on FTTP and considering switching to plusnet FTTP and asked if can use own router.  He said yes but need to use there hub as a modem.

I asked him to clarify as atm we have ONT box and then cable from that directly into my router.

He advised i needed the ONT box, a cable from that to there hub to act as a modem and then cable to my router.

Is this true? As plusnet is owned by BT, i was expecting it to be a like for like setup i.e. nothing changes my end, I literally just go into my router and change the username/pswd and maybe some other setting if required, not sure I want another box plugged in.

I’m wondering f the guy didn’t understand what i was referring to and thigs i have FTTC?

Thanks

Kev
