Did you buy the DSL-AC68U new? if so then to cut a very long story short, the unit needs to be returned and swapped for another unit which is more suitable.

Basically, BT a few years back started to punish users whom used the DSL-AC68u because it uses the MediaTek (ECONET) DSL chipset, this chipset unfortunately even though worked well on very short stable lines, was not good for long lines which had lots of interference.

This is part of the reason why ASUS then introduced the DSL-AC88U which has a Broadcom DSL chipset and supported G.inp

The DSLAM controls the level of interleaving and whether Fastpath is applied, you connect to a Broadcom DSLAM, (which is great) and you old BT hub was also Broadcom, so this is why synch speeds have dropped so much

BT introduced a couple of years ago G.INP which reduces SNR (downstream) and increases synch speed, alas your DSL-AC68U does not support BT G.INP, so again you are fighting a loosing battle
