@Grisu, I have been speaking with a developer regarding the option to , alerts users (only once) of a new reply or replies to a thread they’re watching only if they’ve viewed the thread since the last alert

I had another developer lined up, but they have since pulled out.

Anyway, this new developer has asked a simply question, what happens if your forum supports ‘Reply by Email option’ this in essence is the ability to reply to posts by email rather than logging into forum and adding text etc.

This is not an option I have currently enabled on this Forum, but it is an option and I wondered if this is something you have seen on other forums you belong to.

The ‘Reply by Email option’ does make it interesting if the ‘alerts users (only once) of a new reply or replies to a thread they’re watching only if they’ve viewed the thread since the last alert’ option is enabled’.

I have a possible solution, but thought I would see what happens on other forums etc. from your perspective.
