I believe the Gas box is called a ‘Semi-Concealed LPG Meter Box’ and will be suitable for the smaller Smart Meters, physically.

10 Years is such a long period of time.

In the UK, electricity meters are regulated to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards, but the calibration requirements differ from Austria. Meters used for billing purposes must meet specific accuracy and performance criteria under the Electricity Act 1989 and related regulations. However, there isn’t a fixed five-year calibration cycle like in Austria. Instead, meters are tested and certified for accuracy before installation, and independent testing can be requested if there are concerns about meter readings.

Gas meters are regulated under the Gas Act 1986 and related legislation. They must meet specific accuracy and performance standards before being approved for use. Unlike Austria’s fixed calibration cycle, the UK employs a system called In-Service Testing (IST). This is a national sampling scheme where meters are periodically tested to ensure they remain accurate throughout their lifespan.
