Okay so I have the opportunity to get an RT-AC86U at discount and sell on my DSL-AC88U. Any opinions please? I have been watching this thread around the DSL firmware and it seems to have dried up compared to the 86U which has at least had a 2019 release! I realise that I will have to go back to a seperate modem but the future proofing seems better? I value your input :-)
ASUS DSL team believe the next firmware will be released around Xmas time,
All I can really say is that if the next release fails to meet expectation, then the DSL-AC88U is not an option for future consideration when purchasing a modem/router combo (my view).
