Just purchased the RT86U working great with BT OR modem able to watch neflix, primevideo and Plusnet IPTV services BT Sports… now i have received the Draytek 130 and connected i am not able to view BT Sports channels… thought it was plug and play nothing changed on the RT86U switched back to the BT OR modem and it all works fine, and this modem is locked down… so what do i need to do to do the same on the Draytek 130… is there something blocking requests from ISP.
Any help greatly appreciated.

December 6, 2018 at 8:57 am #1728Check to make sure you are running the latest DrayTeK 130 BT Approved firmware (3.8.3 BT) and if that does not work, login into modem and check if Bridge mode is enabled?
https://www.draytek.co.uk/support/guides/kb-igmp-proxy (need to register you DrayTeK 130 modem to gain access)
The ASUS routers have a separate IPTV settings under LAN which I believe needs configuring first. alas I do not use IPTV etc, but I am sure we can work it out?
Is your BT Sports via Youview ?

DrayTeK 130
(My Notes: (for reference) Under βInternet Accessβ on the modem, change the default MPoA/Static or Dynamic IP setting from βdisableβ to βenable) and try enabling Bridge mode and set VLAN
(MPoE (bridge) works in all cases, apparently, if accessing theΒ BT TVΒ multicast channels using the PPPoE (passthrough) option is potentially problematic. )?

December 6, 2018 at 5:23 pm #1745Sentinel, so far all my asus routers have all different configurations, now to enable IPTV stuff BT Sports are the Channels amongst others… not working either.. it is to do with multicast.
on the RT86U i do not have isp options to put in, so top two not needed. next two options are enabled there is no option for IGMP Snooping as in my other routers… the BT OR modems works fine with the settings available… so i think the Draytek 130 is not showing the sameΒ clear picture to view…

So with BT OR Modem all works as you would expect, including BT Sports?
If so, then the DrayTeK 130 modem by default is set to use PPPoE Passthrough and you need to change it to Bridge Mode, (BT OR Modems are usually Bridge Mode also)

December 6, 2018 at 7:01 pm #1749yes you are correct but the draytek is not doing so… maybe the firmware is different.
For PPPoE there is not VDSL setting just ADSL but have tried and enable it and makes no difference… Plusnet is PPPoe …. not setting for Bridgemode in the page…
Yes the BT OR modem works everything … lol such a old modem… glad i kept it.
the UK version Draytek 130 is a cut down version… compare to European counterparts… hmmm

December 6, 2018 at 7:31 pm #1751I will unplug my DrayTeK 130 from my Netgear XR500 tomorrow and have a look at DrayTeK UI,
I am surprised the Bridge option is not available, and if worst case, no reason why normal, non BT firmware (stock) cannot be flashed onto modem.

December 6, 2018 at 7:48 pm #1752Success, reinstalled latest firmware from draytek UK…. login to 130 and disable Lan Access DHCP go toΒ Internet Access >> MPoA / Static or dynamic IP enable… (Do not use PPPoE Internet Access Page) make sure the Bridge Mode Box at bottom of page is Ticked… click Ok Draytek 130 will reboot, restart PC, turn off router RT-AC86U by power on/off button, reconnect ethernet cable back into into Draytek 130 and switch on RT-AC86U and check your IPTV channels…
When i first loaded the latest firmware to the modem 130 i should of hard reset it, then load firmware again… which has helped… in the RT-AC86U settings in LAN>IPTV >Special Applications> enable Microsoft and enable -Enable multicast routing (IGMP Proxy) then in WAN Settings goto Special Instructions from ISP make sureΒ Enable VPN + DHCP Connection is NOT Enabled…. is Set to No then you have UK IPTV channels without seeing IPC6023 (which you see on your channel on Youview box which is restricting viewing.
Hope this helps anyone else using this combo Draytek 130 and Asus RT-AC86U
Bridge Mode in the Draytek is onΒ Internet Access]> MPoA / Static or dynamic IP
Do Not Use PPPoe internet Access page if your ISP uses PPPoe… in the Draytek 130 settings the Asus RT-AC86U will do all that when you enter User Name and Password from ISP
