Fritz!Box comes with power mode of your Fritz! Box and can be enabled for faster internet.

    • Fritz! Box Power Mode boosts Internet speed
    • Power mode increases power consumption
    • Mode can be set individually for each port

Fritz! Box Power Mode: How to increase your internet speed

The useful power mode not set by default on many models? The answer is quite simple, because a higher internet speed also means higher power consumption. That’s why AVM usually delivers its Fritz! Box models in the so-called “Green Mode“, which corresponds to a power-saving mode and is more environmentally friendly. With newer models, such as the FRITZ! Box 5690 Pro, on the other hand, the power mode is preset. To change the mode, you need to follow these steps:

    1. The menu of the Fritz! Box in the browser.
    2. Select the menu item “Home network” and then click on “Network”.
    3. After that, open the “Network Settings” tab.
    4. In the “LAN Settings” section, consumers can now see the previously set mode. This can be switched from “Green Mode” to “Power Mode”.
    5. Then click on “Apply”.

You can choose between Green and Power Mode for each port individually. Important: This tip only works with a LAN connection and does not affect Wi-Fi. However, you increase your data volume from 100 Mbit/s to up to 1 Gbit/s. In short, you may increase your internet speed tenfold, depending on the line.
