At MWC 2026 in Barcelona from 2–5 March 2026, German networking company AVM showcased several new additions to its popular FRITZ! networking lineup, focusing heavily on the growing Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem.
The company presented updated FRITZ!Box routers and mesh solutions designed to deliver faster wireless speeds, improved reliability, and better performance in homes with large numbers of connected devices. Wi-Fi 7 technology allows routers to use wider channels and multiple wireless links at the same time, helping reduce latency and improve overall network stability for things like gaming, streaming, and smart home devices.
AVM says its latest FRITZ! hardware is built to handle multi-gigabit broadband connections, something that is becoming increasingly common as fibre networks expand across Europe.
Alongside the Wi-Fi 7 announcements, the company also offered an early glimpse into the future by discussing development work around Wi‑Fi 8. While the next generation wireless standard is still several years away from official release, AVM indicated that future products will focus on greater reliability, improved performance in crowded wireless environments, and smarter network management.
The early discussion of Wi-Fi 8 highlights how networking companies are already looking beyond Wi-Fi 7, even as the current generation of routers is just beginning to reach mainstream adoption.
For now, AVM’s latest announcements show that Wi-Fi 7 is quickly becoming the new standard for premium home networking, with more devices expected to arrive throughout 2026.
