Apple confirms important date all iPhone users must know, put it in your diary now!

If you love all things iPhone then there’s an important date you must pop in your diary. Apple has just confirmed that it will be holding its next big launch event in September and a new range of smartphones look set to be top of the agenda. The major keynote will begin at 6pm on Monday 9th with Apple confirming the news via an invite sent to media.

So what about the price?

We won’t know full pricing until next Monday but Apple could keep things pretty much the same as last year. That means the iPhone 16 may start from around £799. One thing that’s sure to happen is that Apple’s older devices, such as the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14, will be dropped in price once the iPhone 16 is confirmed.

I did read the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro come with charging boost bonus in that iPhone 16 models have larger battery capacities and would support faster charging through MagSafe. That’s up to 25W now rather than the previous 15W.

iPhone 16 models all support up to 45W of wired fast charging though the USB-C port.

Apple confirms the iPhone 16 has 8GB of RAM Apple hadn’t previously stated how much RAM the iPhone 16 line has, but MacRumors discovered references to the 8GB number in Xcode after the phones were announced.

Apple, which isn’t the only hardware maker that has recently boosted RAM to offer AI, has said that iOS 18 won’t bring Apple Intelligence to the iPhone 15, which only has 6GB of RAM, when the feature set launches. Apart from the iPhone 16 line, the iPhone 15 Pro will be the only other phone that supports it.
