Hey guy’s anyone created ipv6 DNS connection? Am connected via Dns ipv4 via Google domain not through the Asus router though.just created the connection on single device, I have available ipv6 through pass though but won’t connect when changed settings on DNS on device.wondering if it has to be static or 6to4 to connection first on Asus router? Any one had any luck?

January 18, 2024 at 2:15 pm #29265I forget, what ISP do you use as some ISP’s like Plusnet do not offer or allow IPv6

January 18, 2024 at 2:16 pm #29266January 18, 2024 at 2:28 pm #29267Wan connection is automatic ip.and for ipv6 connections it says connect via pass through,but clearly doesn’t work double checked all the details and doesn’t allow it .so don’t know if keep the automatic IP the same and create a static ipv6 connection ?

January 19, 2024 at 9:24 am #29277Attached is how I set up IPV6 on the XT8.
I then go to https://test-ipv6.com/ to check if it worked.
Not sure it this is the correct way or not, but seems to work for me. I am with Hyperoptic.

January 19, 2024 at 9:58 am #29282I only do this on the XT8, not on each device.
I use Cloudflare IPV6 or Google IPV6
Cloudflare:
2606:4700:4700::1111
2606:4700:4700::1001
Google:
2001:4860:4860::8888
2001:4860:4860::8844

January 19, 2024 at 11:04 am #29285IPV6 Passthrough is a safe option and below is a general guide to help others with IPv6
Generally, depending on your Internet Connection type:
- If you have a PPPoE internet connection, you should select Native.
- If you have a static IP internet connection, you should choose Static IPv6.
- If you have an automatic IP internet connection, you should select Passthrough.
